RESEARCH AREAS and ACTIVITY DOMAINS
Characterization and diagnosis in the field of photovoltaic energy:
• Testing and measuring techniques by Flickermeter;
• Measuring the quality of electrical energy in the laboratory and on‑site;
• Producing reference photovoltaic modules (standards);
• Measuring the current‑voltage characteristic in the laboratory under STC conditions,
RENAR accredited (Romanian Accreditation Association);
• Measuring the power of photovoltaic modules under STC conditions, RENAR
accredited;
• Measurement of the current‑voltage characteristics on‑site, RENAR accredited;
• Determining the power of modules and photovoltaic module areas on‑site, RENAR
accredited;
• Interpretation of the current‑voltage characteristic of photovoltaic modules and module
areas (diagnosis);
• Diagnosis of PID phenomenon (Potential Induction Deterioration) in the start‑up phase
and for repairing the affected modules;
• Diagnosis of photovoltaic modules with Electroluminescence in laboratory and on site;
• Testing for operation and inspection of photovoltaic systems coupled to the grid;
• Measurements of the linearity of photovoltaic systems;
• Measurements of the radiant performance, operating temperature and power
characteristics;
• Calculation of correction due to spectral mismatch to photovoltaic device
measurements;
• Measurements of the insulation resistance and HIPOT tests;
• Measurements of the static and dynamic efficiency of the MPPT point at photovoltaic
inverters;
• Elaboration of feasibility studies, solutions and workbooks for photovoltaic energy
generators;
• Development of technical projects for photovoltaic energy generators.

ACTIVITY AREAS
Monitoring the state of implementation of the quality assurance, technical quality
control and environmental protection in ICPE‑CA;
Development / optimization of procedures that allow the design, documentation,
implementation and evaluation of Management System in accordance with reference
standards, as well as ensuring the staff training for the management of the
implemented system;
Maintaining the high performance of the Integrated Management System of Quality‑
Environment in accordance with the EU requirements;
Support materials for certification / qualification actions in management systems as a
basis in education processes of the management staff and operational personnel in the
spirit of quality;
Management and conservation of natural resources based on ecological principles,
paying special attention to the recycling of materials;
Improve the quality of the environment by implementing technical‑economical, juridical
and administrative measures at the institute level.
