Tulcea is the residence municipality of the county with the same name, located on 7 Choline of the Tulcea Hills, with a continuously inhabited area dating back to 2900 – 2200 BC. Documentarily attested in 1506, Tulcea currently spans an area of 115 square km and has a population of 68.608 inhabitants. It stands as a modern industrial city for passenger ships, but also ships carrying industrial products and raw materials.
The city has remarkable attractions, including the Danube Delta Eco-tourist Museum Center, where the largest aquarium in Eastern Europe is located.
